Onan generator questions

Any heavy haulers?

Ordered one today, I've only been looking for this for 6 years!!!! I can't wait to see how well it cools now!! I'll finally b e able to use all of that hp!

BPINE, you say they are ready to ship, do you have the rads, or does griffin have them ready. When I called them today, he said 7 - 10 days? what's up?

They started shipping the ones I ordered last week I got another one yesterday. I still have one not spoken for on my order which will be shipped before filling any other orders.

Not to sure why you would order one and pay more when my last post states I have more available at the group price? What did they quote you?

I was so pumped about finding a rad, that I didn't read the 2nd page of post. They billed me $710 with freight. Do you have the rads in Ca? or are they still at Griffin?

Another thanks to BPINE. Got mine installed last week and very impressed with quality and workmanship. Took all your advice for installing and it fit perfectly. Thanks again and it was good to meet ya.

Got mine from UPS freight today. Couldn't believe the packaging... if they care that much about that, the radiator should be great. I haven't had a chance to check it over thoughly yet, but I don't expect any disappointments.

Thanks BPINE

rad. fit grate no mods needed, but spearco intercooler do not fit so good, tubes were bent wrong and a inch to short. got 3 more psi of boost.

thanks agin.

Ya, Here is an update. Mine has developed a very small leak on the upper, right corner. I've had it installed for 6 months and haven't even towed heavy yet. Called about the warrenty and was told to send it to them and it would take about 1 week to fix. I had a radiator repair place look at it and they showed me how they use epoxy on the ends and not welding. Looks like the stock one is going back in for awhile.

That is not a good sign,6 months is not very good. On a good note at least the warrantee seems to work. Things do happen and if a supplier stands behind their product I guess that is all you can ask for when a problem occurs.

Mine has now been in operation for 1 year with no problems, headed back to Vegas for May Madness at the end of the week and will give the Griffin a big work out in the process.

Please keep us posted on how the repair works out.

Glad I saw this I was about to order one. Hope they see the problem and actually weld the darn thing. Keep us posted.

Here is a bit of information on how the Radiator is put together. First off the tubes are welded (furnace brazed) to the header joint and the epoxy is only there to add extra support. The tube to header joint is the weakest link to any aluminum radiator and Griffin has went to great lengths to build the most durable product on the market. You can go to their web site and find more detailes on how they are built.

When I was looking for a large capacity radiator Griffin was one of only a few places that would build one and the only that I could find with a 2 year warrantee. I know it is a big pain to pull it out and send it in for repair but things happen and if Griffin stands behind their product without any hassle I think that is all we can ask for.

Ended up taking it to a place that does repair work on our Alum. hydraulic oil coolers. They gave me a deal on the repair and a good price on a OEM replacement. I think I'll sell the griffen locally(SF Bay area) for $400. 00. Kinda overkill for what I use my truck for now.
