I would like to have a nice looking and functional grill guard for my 2003 Ram 3500. I realize that the best ones would be part of a front bumper changeout. But I don't want that serious (and expensive) of a setup.

Recently I saw a Go Industries "Rancher" grill guard on a new Ford 3500. I liked the looks of it.

I checked the goindustries.com web site and see that it is a new model grill guard and they do make one to fit the 3rd gen Dodge Ram. The web site states that you keep the factory tow hooks.

Any opinions? Is there another guard I should check out?

Glenn

check out ranchhand. their grille guards are great. I have one and there pics in my reader rig. Another that I have seen are called "maverick". if you do a google search you should be able to find out alot on both.

I just put a Westin Fat Boy on mine, and really like the looks of it. Beefy 2 inch tubes, and I got it for $419... . Sorry I don't have any pics of it yet.

I put a Manik cps grill guard on my 2004,pretty stout for a grill guard, very happy so far. coobie :D

I don't care for the full grill guard look,I went for a very simple, strong light bar from Carli suspension. If you ever have to work on a 3rd gen you will hate having a big grill guard. Try reaching the rear cylinders while you are laying on top of a ranch hand bumper.

I find that the ranchhand grille guard makes a great place to sit when you are reaching around in the engine compartment. :) :) :)

Ranchhand and maverick both make very good grill guards. Also you might check the easley grill guards. I have one on a 93 f350 and hit a deer at about 50 mph splattered the deer but no damage to the truck.

gbraden,

Check out South West Fabricators ( http://www.southwestfabricators.com/

or more specifically http://www.southwestfabricators.com/grille_guards.htm ).

I have their front and rear replacement bumpers, running boards, and headache rack and have been pleased with them.

See my reader's rigs gallery for pics. Oo.

I also liked and seriously considered:

http://www.arcrite.com/

http://www.toughcountry.com/ or http://www.toughcountry.com/dodge/

http://ranchhand.com/

Happy shopping!

Alan.

Disclosure: Last time I checked, I was a dealer for South West Fabricators (sorry, not for the California area, or I could give you a great deal on an in-stock grille guard).

LARRY

Larry,

Try this, you will probably be able to purchase them cheaper from one of their distributors. T&H International Headquarters is located in Afula, Israel.

Tal & Hadas Stainless Steel Grill Guards

I had one on my 99 CTD (White Obsession) and was please with it.

If I hadn't gotten a Road Armor Bumper, I would have gotten the Tal & Hadas Grill Guard for Ghost Rider.

Hope this helps.
