Dumb Question

Mabey someone can chime in here. When you install monitor,do you keep all of the fittings in enigine compartment (thermocouple, fuel isolator ect. ) or is it a direct plug in to the ECM and get readings from it?

the engine computer doesnt know what egts are or fuel pressure. so im sure it probably has its own egt thermocouple and sending units.

Thanks guys! For what Im now hearing , This is an ENTIRE kit!(boost line, fittings, thermo couple ect. ) I wasnt sure if possibly the EMC had the capibility to do all of this on its own or not. OK now IM VERY EXCITED! LOL

It gets boost from the computer so no boost lines but it has EVERYTHING you need I really like it. You all will not regret this purchase for sure the turbo timer alone is worth the upgrade.

Mine is on its way ... can't wait Oo.

Thanks Chuck

Downloaded the PDF destruction manual last night and read through it ... lots of goodies to play with on this :D

Has anyone used the 1/4 mile and 0-60 performance tests . . are they accurate?

Anyone interested in a 3 month old EZ for an 01 ... will be for sale next week.

I Also installed mine today. But have problems. Will not read any boost which also means no extra power. EGT and Fuel Pressure work fine just no boost readings. Anyone have any Ideas? Edge is closed until monday so it's going to be a long weekend with me wondering what's up.

Chuck,

No I did not use the alum bracket, I just used that velcro stuff, the attitude is bigger than the hole so cut the velcro in two and put a piece each side of the hole. Doing it this way I also routed the cable through the hole so it is not visible.

I wanted to keep my mechanical fuel pressure and now have it reading pre filter and the electronic sender unit that comes with the unit I installed into the VP44.

The only problem I had was, the instructions say to run the ground to the battery, but the cable is not long enough to reach as it is bundled with the the wire tap for the VP44, so I mounted it to inlet horn and then ran an additional wire from that conection to the neg on the battery. (I tapped the wire on the VP44 ... if you do not tap wire you could route that bundle to the battery and it would be long enough I think).

Running good so far. ... now I need the M4's and turbo (5x5 with stock sticks is NO fun) :-laf .

Solved my problem, I noticed I was missing more than Boost. RPM, engine temp, etc. . I checked the Data Connector it was not completely connected. I had to get a good grip on it and it snapped into place. All works fine except the turbo timer I will have to check on that tomorrow.
