Sounds like a wise upgrade to me.

I would like to see what the kit consists of and the cost.

Keeping that front axle unlocked when its not needed would nice.

I'm definitely interested. I had one of the old "Full-time four wheel drive" GMC Jimmies... and I know first hand what all that wear and tear eventually does, and costs.

I hope they aren't the same as what the Fords have. My neighbor has replaced his twice now because they sieze up and can't be engaged anymore. His truck is not very old either--Maybe 99 or 2000? Sounds like an expensive bill too.

Count me in!

Having a love for four wheelin', this is a great upgrade. Cost, as mentioned, will be a big determining factor. If cost is managable, count me IN!

I would be interested if the price is right. Would we just cut a hole in the cap to get at the locking lever? I asked American Axle about some type of locking hubs and they said that they were looking at 2005 before they had anything. I had a 73 chev. and could really tell the difference with the hubs locked in with the transfer case in 2 wheel, as opposed to not locked. Lary

I am interested too, especially for the two-wheel low feature, but i would like to see some specifics first (price, servicability, country of origin, etc)

Did anyone ever start offering manual hob conversions for the 2nd generation trucks? I have wanted this for YEARS now. No problems except for outboard universal joints on my 1996 and no further problems with it since I went to greasable universals when I changed them.

I'm for this 100%. I really dislike the fact that I'm wearing out all of my front end components and getting worse fuel mileage for no good reason.

In my post about talking to AAM re the hubs I misspoke. What I talked to them about was some sort of a limited slip diff. for the front like the rear and I got an answer. Sorry if I caused any confusion. I am interested in the "Hubs". Larry

I'm interested enough at this time to be counted as a strong probalbe. Like the rest, the final cost will be needed before I can close it out.
