Group Buy on Turbo's(Better Than a hx40)

When I had my stock turbo on the interstate at 75 MPH it would run at anywhere from 10-15 PSI.



As far as this turbo goes, are you guys comparing it to a B-1? I was told my turbo is similar to a B-1 and I see maybe about 5 PSI max cruising on the interstate now compared to stock. Also with a turbo that size there is lag, not horrible, but it is not a HX-35. Why does this turbo run so cool? I had issues with stock turbo and new until I got my water/meth installed.



Not trying to start trouble or step on anyones toes, I always like to know things and it sounds like this turbo is smaller than a B-1 since it spools so quickly and doesnt make as much max boost, cruising boost. Or does the B-1 only make that much boost max (50 PSI )?

Just got back and rested from a trip to Illinois. 10psi cruising for me is always going up a grade(not too much flat ground in KY. ) In Indiana i was seeing 4-6psi cruising at 70-75. Mark was right at 100mph my egt's are around 1250 but they are still rising, i try not to go faster then that. This turbo is wastegated at 40 when it comes from JR.

I did some more testing on this turbo this weekend on my way to Illinois. Doing 55 on the highway and just "flooring" it i did hit 1500egt at a little over a 105mph. When i would drop to 4th and tach it out 3800rpm and shift (still floored) it would be at about 1300 at 100mph. I only did that a few times because of the fear of getting a ticket or going to jail. Cruising at 70 i was at 5-8psi of boost, and egt was at 550-600





This thing spools very quickly especially on my 5spd i would say just like a hx35(keep in mind i have a lot of fuel). On a auto truck it might be just a little slower.



This thing is wastegated at 40psi and it seems to me it hits 42psi then backs down to 40.



Many people have asked if there are any mods. to put this on. The only mods to install this turbo are that you need a b1 downpipe and you will need to bend the oil drain around the wastegate actuator. Does not take much to get it to clear. Once unbolted from the turbo all you have to do is take the hose clamp off the bottom to get the drain tubo off, you can heat it and bend it or just try to bend it with a vise.



Monday Feb. 14 will be the last day on this group buy. It will take about 2 weeks to get them out.
