I emailed Randy at Retrax and he said if we get 10 or more orders we can get 125$(smaller discount for less units) off normal price. Those thing are sweet check 'em out. Ridgid bed cover, that locks and you canstill tow a fifth wheel. I'm considering it, just tough I'd pass it along. Freind has one and it is a quality piece, works has advertised.

Check it out here http://www.rolltopcover.com/home.html

Who already has one?

Is there any members that have a Retrax on their

truck?Does it work well in cold weather/ice/snow?

Did you have any problems? Is this a good addition

you can count on working? Is it water proof?Etc,etc.

Inquiring minds are inquiring!

I believe we can buy a similar retractable cover from jc whitney for 675$. What are the differences?

I have a Retrax on my truck, I've had for six months with no problems. Just be aware that the 94 and up trucks have a tapered bed whereas the earlier trucks are not, there is a differance. I got mine from a friend for half price, Retrax sent him a tapered one for his 93, so Retrax said he could have it at half off.

As far as locking the cover in any postion you will need drill holes in the track at the points you want it to stop. Email me if you have any questions.

The Retrax that got me thinking about it, on my buddy's truck, You can lock the cover anywhere on it, no drilling required.

I've been running a Retrax about 1 1/2 years and am VERY happy with it. They are not completely waterproof (and don't claim to be), but with a little care you can put about anything back there and it'll stay dry. I'm a bass player in a weekend Rock band, and haul my gear back there and it has stayed dry even in serious rain or snow. What little water intrudes doesn't get any higher than the grooves in the flooring, so anything solid (e. g. speaker cabinets) doesnt' get wet. No problems in 2 Utah winters with ice or snow, and I do haul a 5th wheel which it also works great with. Don't expect to close the cover over anything over 19'' tall though.

The only problem was when I had to haul my buddy's broken Harley, I had to remove the Retrax (not much effort required) to get the Harley in my shortbed since the Retrax does take up about 6-7".

Just heed the warning about not putting anything on the cover and it'll stay looking good at least as long as your truck does.

We have the Pace Edwards Version

We have run our pace edwards version of this cover since 99, and now in our 03 (which I shortened for the short box and because I haul a permanently mounted generator for boondocking) and We love it. Provides security, is nearly waterproof, and looks great but takes quite a bit of care in terms of treating the vinyl.

The vinyl upkeep is exactly why I went with the Retrax, I wax it when I do the truck and it still looks like new. The other big plus is that it will lock (or at least close securely) in any position for hauling tall objects of varying lengths.

It is lexan with embedded stiffeners. It scratches easily (like plastic lenses do) so it can't be cleaned unless wet, but otherwise is low maintenance.
