I received an email from Geno's Garage that the cost of the shifter was charged to my card today, so I guess that means the shifter is on the way:cool:

Recieved mine Tuesday. Installed Friday, went like this: removed shift tower and laid it out on a bench and switched the parts just like the directions said. Put silicone on both sides of the spacer and put it on the trans, just like the directions said. Put the isolator on the spacer, just like the directions said. Put silicone on the bottom of the shift tower and put it on the isolator, just like the directions said. Put the first bushing in the shift tower, just like the directions said, and down to the metal plate on the isolator where it bottomed out, NOT like the directions said. So I called BD and explained the situation which was new to who I was talking to. He said he'd call me back in 1/2 hr. I started cleaning up all the fresh silicone and finished so 2 hrs later when I hadn't heard anything I said the hell with it and drilled my isolator and dry fit everything only to find the bushings that came with the shift kit are too short. So I called BD back and spoke with the first guy who connected me with the second guy who said "use the factory bushings". Only problem was that since I drilled the isolator they would now do no good. So now I need either a new isolator or longer bushings. By the way, they told me they have revised the kit by drilling the spacer for the bolt dia. and reusing the factory bushings. If I have to spring for a new isolator I expect BD to send me the revised spacer. BD is going to get back to me next week.

Those bushings need to be the correct length. They limit the compression allowed to be placed on the composit shift tower and the rubber component of the isolator. My concern is that if the bolts are torqued to spec, or even close, with the short bushings that sometime down the road that composite shift tower is going to break up and wind up in the trans.

Sorry for the length but needed to vent. Those shift kits aren't cheap.

Mine showed up thursday and i installed it last night. I love it. I think it was worth every penny. The shifter just has a much nicer feel to it now and i really liked the decreased throw.

How long ago did you order it. It has been 5-6 weeks when i ordered mine and still have not seen it.

Rubberneck & others, did anyone else encounter the problems FM expressed in his post ? (I think his post is about 5 up^)... . I would hate to order this little goody, follow directions, and not work!

NXS, i ordered mine on 4/9/03, and got it on 5/22, so yours is probably just around the corner. I ordered mine straight from bd as i didn't see the group rate thing until after i ordered. As far as install went, it was a snap. Not one hang up. It took me longer to remove all the electronic junk i have mounted to the center console and shifters than anything else.

I know what the delivery problem is... ... ... . I spoke with BD at May Madness. As it turns out, they never anticipated such a huge demand for these shifters, and had only ordered couple hundred to start with. They ordered more, but the place making them had their CNC machine die. They were waiting for a new one at the time I spoke to him (during MM). They should be filling backorders and getting them all on the road soon.

waiting since 4/30

I ordered mine from Genos on 4/30, still waiting. I haven't heard from them and since I know they're backordered, I haven't bothered calling either. I haven't been billed, ordered a bunch of filters and get the free shipping offer on the whole deal. I'm in no hurry.
