I had ordered an AFE II from a company that subsequently was sold. I ended up having to dispute the charges as I never received it.

Anyway, I kept on reading more and more and started wondering if I had made the right choice anyway.

I have a Quad Race box, which I usually run on the 60 or 100 setting for daily driving. I am going to order the MBRP exhaust as well.

Here is the thing:

I want as big a drop in EGT as possible.

I want to keep it as quiet as possible in the cab.

Looks like the AFE II can be quite loud, so it may be out. But then again, just the stage I (without the TT) may not give me the EGT drop I am looking for.

Any suggestions for a QUIET, EFFICIENT air intake? Or is that just impossible.

Along the same lines, I am also debatin whether to eliminate the CAT or not. I know it will be louder, but no-one has mentioned if the EGTs run cooler without the cat.

Any input appreciated.

thanks

Sebastien.

I have the Stage I and TT. I have not personally heard a 600+ with the new Stage II installed, so I don't know if they are that much louder. Mine is not loud. I personally can not here it over the Banks cat back exhaust(Muffler). Some comment they hear the turbo whine from the passenger seat, but I really dont hear enough to pay attention.

My guess is with the MBRP it will not be louder than the exhaust in the cab. The combination of afe air intake and Banks Monster cat back exhaust dropped my EGTs between 75-100* across the board. Just my . 02.

Hmm... Quiet and flows good enough to help EGT - I bet the scotty air system would fit that (because of its design). BUT I have never ran one, So maybe someone with that system could chime in and tell us... .

I was thinking about the Scotty III. Then, I noticed that it keeps the stock air hose. I suppose that means a little more obstructions, but less noise.

And then, I wondered if you can use the "cool blue hose" with the Scotty. If anyone has that combination, how loud is it?

thanks for the help; keep it coming! :)

sounds like you used the same company I did. I called my credit card today to dispute the charges on the stuff i didn't receive...

Why not post the companys name,so someone else will not get stung?coobie.

the company has been sold and the owner is no longer in the business. Therefore no longer a danger to unsuspecting customers. I really don't have all the facts, so I'd rather not trash someone's reputation, especially if it won't affect others any more.

I deleted my above post - I was just e-mailed & my cool blue hose is now on the way - no extra charge -Thank you. Must have been a mix up.
