OK... Ive got the side plug out, and the AFC and plate off the top... . (Piers' instructions didnt say anything about the Exxon Valdez when removing the plug:mad: ). His instructions tell me to "remove the retainer and springs" but doesnt say HOW to remove the retainer. I see the stud in the middle, and the spring perch on top. . and two small 'slots'. What do I do? Also, should I do this thru the top or the port?

If you have the plug removed do it through the side, as far as the springs and retainers pull them with a magnet so your sure you get all of them out. Remember to leave the real big Idle spring in there. Piers says read the instructions then read them again and so forth. If you need any more questions or just want to bounce ideas you can call me at 405-387-3924.

I re-read your post again, the retainer can be removed using two small screw drivers to turn the retainer, or if you have them a pair of duck bill pliers would work too.

Thanks!

Thanks, Jim! Ive got it all installed and put back together... kinda intimidating at first, but once you actually SEE it, it all makes sense and is rediculously simple! Still not happy about oil all over my block, front diff and driveway:{ . Now before I put the top back together, could someone please explain Piers' adjustment technique in a language even I could understand?

Thanks you guys... . You are the magic of TDR!!!

Brian I was in the same boat as you and before I put it all back together I called Piers to make sure cause I thought I missed something, he told me nope sounds good. I also told him about the fuel shut off arm and if you take the top bolt out and move it out of you way the plug goes back in much easier, took me 20 min to figure that one out.
