I finally got up the nerve to install the 3K GSK, when I was measuring the retainer nut ht. kept coming up with weird amounts, . 015-. 020, not the . 060 like it's supposed to be, went to remove the nut, it was only finger tight! only one wimpy ''click'' left, yikes!, other side wasen't quite as bad but loose also, probably why it reved to 3300 before, seems to have a lot better off idle throttle response now, haven't had a chance to really test drive it yet (agonizing 100 mile turbo break-in) Bob

Which truck got the GSK?

The 96 into the chevy or the 98? Is the 98 an auto or manual?

I've done a few GSK. I haven't found any higher measurement from the top of the flyweight stud to the retainer nut top more than 0. 040"

Did your idle change?

Is the throttle response very even from idle to 2k rpm?

Did you check the throttle arm position?

johnE the GSK went in the chevy, idle went up to 1100 rpm, haven't had a chance to reset it yet, throttle response seems smooth, although it has much more snap, before it would barley break loose the tires in third gear on a gravel road, I geuss I was concerned that the nut had backed off on it's own, and was almost ready to come off.

(the tattle- tail wire was still in place). Bob
