Hello all... I've had my gauges for about 6 months now, and due to one thing or another, haven't been able to get them installed.

I would like to tackle it myself (I think) but need serious guidance.

I am mechanically able, but ignorant with the process, so if anyone has way too much free time... could you give me detailed instructions using layman's terms?

I will have a buddy helping me who is an electrician, since wiring is beyond my scope.

Thanks in advance... Michael

There is a link to some pretty good instructions on this page. If you have more specific questions just post 'em.

I just installed mine yesterday. I was pretty nervous about the pyro. I installed it right by the third port from the front. I want to save the spot just above the turbo for the soon-to-be-mine TST PMCR.

I have a 1/8 probe, and I used a Makita angle drill with a Q drill bit. I had a magnet sitting next to the bit, and I cleaned it once it would load up with shavings. I then used a magnet to find any shavings that dropped into the manifold.

I then greased the tap, and proceeded slowly, cleaning and re-greasing often. After the tapping was completed, I searched again with the magnet to make sure the shavings were gone.

I then installed the pyro with some never-seize.

Do this, and you should have zero problems.

I have passed this tip on to several people. When drilling the exhaust manifold, tape the exhaust outlet almost closed. Leave a small hole for the exhaust gas to exit but enough restriction to create back pressure. Drill and tap the hole with the engine running. Have everything ready, it only take a couple of minutes. The back pressure will blow the chips and shavings out. Be careful of your eyes. The chips exit with a vengance. I picked this up from the Internet. Use at your own risk. It worked great for me. No problems at all and I am absolutely sure all material was blown out and none entered the manifold or turbo. Good luck with your installation.

Just install mine last week and would not have even tried to install them if I hadn't read all the infomation that this site puts out. All the contributors here gave me the confidence to tackle the job. TDR is the best $35 I have ever spent. Everthing worked out just fine and they look and work great. . and you get the satisfaction of knowing that you did it yourself. . Good Luck. .

Michael,

I am in pretty much the same boat with my new Isspro gauges. I can handle the wiring, and sensor installs. I already drilled my new ATS exhaust manifold. It is not installed yet so drilling and tapping was easy. I will install the manifold when I get a few hours free.

What worries me is how to route all the wiring and tubing up to the dash-top pod that I will be using. I don't want to do a hack job and run tacky looking wiring on a truck that is still new to me. Has anyone installed Isspros in a 3rd gen on the dash top? Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks

Warren
