Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Guage holder

I'm going to order my fuel pressure guage this week and I was wondering where I should put it? I already have a triple pillar mount and I'm curious what everyone else has done in this case. I'm spying the cubby hole right of the radio right now. Seems to be a good spot to me. Has anyone done this? Thanks alot... .

yep!

I used an Autometer Z-series 35 PSI boost gauge though, and routed the line through some 1/8" vacuum hose to protect it from sharp edges and what not. So far, so good. Have had it in for about 1 month now, and have made 2, 1000 mile trips w/o shutting the engine down and it's worked perfectly. Here's a pic of the gauge in the hole. The plate is from Eric from here on the TDR, and you can get it through the classifieds for $5.

I put a westach quad gauge, 2 inch as I recall, in the cubbyhole of my 2001

and it worked great.

No problem on the info. The plate is not built to be a gauge holder, just a replacement for the cubby hole. I used a 2" hole saw, and it was just the right size for the gauge. It's a darn tight fit, and unlike the gauges in my tripple pillar, you can't twist the gauge in the plate. I believe Eric is also now selling the holesaws along with the plate so you don't have to go out and buy one (assuming you're 1000 miles from home like me w/o your tools).



You can find the plate in the classifieds under "product promotions"... . "TDR Member basement enterprises"... I had mine w/in three days of ordering... heck, while you're at it, might as well get a set of the winter gaurds if you're in an area you can use them. I didn't, and am mad about it now... will have to get them next fall.

There's supposed to be a dual steering pod now, but I haven't seen any pics yet.

Don't forget that Westach gauges don't work in the steering column mount unless you do some mods. The faces of the westach's are real thick which will cause the gauge face to hit the steering wheel.



I put my combo in the cubby, and put my trans temp and fuel pressures next to each other using the rubber donut guage mounts from Genos. Amazingly enough they look real nice down on the lower portion of the dash, and since my dash is black everything matched up and looked like it belonged there.
