I got my guages the other day and I installed them tonight with no glitches(other than standing on my head) till the low power turn, the EGT guage is not reading temp(stalled it in the shop) I verified the depth of the probe. 300-. 700 in the manifold but no joy. I haven't readout the wires yet(It's 1:00 am) but will do so tomorrow, can I read out the guage in OHM's to verify it works? No really big deal as I haven't Bombed yet just getting everthing ready:D Any help would be appriciated. It's late going to bed, thanks!

You didn't say what type gauges you installed but the way to check the probe on most is to measure it's output in millivolts, not a feature on most mutimeters. Check to be sure the polarity isn't reversed to the gauge.

Yes, Do check the polarity. Most of the wiring that i’ve done red is + and The Black is - but on the autometer gauges, red is the - and yellow is the +. Good luck!!

10 clicks on the star wheel

I am a newbee. Please excuse me for changing the subject, but what is "10 clicks on the star wheel"?

I am exploring Gage options now, and will be watching your post. Please give more info.

Thanks for the help

I'll go out and try the things you'll mentioned, the polarity is correct as the instuctions read, there impossible to get wrong at the guages but I check that they put the terminals on right.

10 clicks on the star wheel is refering to the star wheel in the AFC housing(under the 8mm hex on the fuel control), by giving it clicks toward the top of the engine you increase the amount of fuel initially there for you increase smoke when you first jump on it but it helps the bottom end power and spools the turbo quicker. I started with 10 then 20 then 30, 30 was the best(the motor loved it) but allot of smoke from the start, then went to 20 but went back to 10 for a fuel check(increased by . 4) could be my driving also. I will get a plate soon and then just tune it to the plate.

P. S. If you have the socket and a screwdriver it takes about 1 min to change! FYI

No Joy on trouble shootoing

I took everything apart read all the wires out, it's either the probe or the guage, I got the guages from TST so I will call them and see if they can shed some light on it. Other than that nice pod fits good over the factory one and looks good painted. Trans temp runs about 140-150 crusing on the road and max boost is 17lbs. Once I get the EGT working I'll order the plate and springs

Update

Talked to TST today and got some info I needed, the EGT guage should OHM out at 62 and it did and I've already read the wiring out so they are sending me another temp probe to change out. Thanks again for all the tid bits.
