How much is a Power Edge worth??

I am slowly and finally getting around to finishing the installation of some guages in the truck. I am installing some of them in a center console (temp guages- all electronic) and need to be able to remove the console easily for service if necessary.

Question is: I was going to use a multipin "Molex" style wire harness to do the trick. Sending wires and power wires will run through it. Will this cause any problems in the resistance to the guages ? I know it could cause problems with EGT, but they are going elsewhere. Anyone see any problems with this??

TIA!!

It will be no problem at all. You could even run the EGT wires through a connector, but I'd avoid the Molex ones (the kind with the circular mini-banana pins). Anything less than a perfect connection will affect the gauge. I think the connectors that RC cars use for the motor (a large copper surface that slides by the mating surface) would work fine. As I recall, you can gang them, too. Much bigger than a Molex connector, but trouble-free.

Now that I've said that, I used automotive bullet connectors for my gauge power, and installed the thermocouple extension wires with no splices all the way to the switch. My gauge had 1/4" spade lug connections, so I used some good quality 1/4" female spade connectors to make the connection. I used 0. 110" female spade connectors at the switch (the switch chooses pre- or post-turbo). I've got about 5000 miles on my installation right now. I won't recommend the push-on connectors until I have 25k or so.

My other two gauges are mechanical.
