i have a edge with attitude, and i am looking for some gauges for my truck. i know i want fuel pressure, but do i really need Rail pressure? i dont plan on super modding the truck at all. plus i hear on diffrent threads that the stock Oil Pressure guage is junk, should i get one? and how important is oil temp? on my WRX i have oil temp but its a small car and turbo. any help would be great!!!!!!! plus should i trust the Trans temp in the Edge?

I prefer Autometer, Phytom. I have both ISSPRO and Autometer. The ISSPRO match the factory better, but for me I can see the Autometer better.

I like my pricols, I have EGT and Boost... but want to get oil psi, fuel pressure, rail pressure, trans temp, and rear diff temp...

I have a Diprocol Rail Pressure guage. I thought it would help me diagnose some goofiness. It's not worth the money uness you really plan on pushing the pressure.

I had an Edge w/attitude and I kept the old autometers on the dash too. I have EGT, Boost, and FP on the dash. Fuel pressure is a must if for nothing else it is the only way to accurately change your fuel filter.

I have ISSPRO's sitting in my garage to install, but i am going with:

Trans temp on Steering Column (Ive' got this one mounted and the wires ran, now i just got to hook them up. I know Ran out of time)

Fuel, Boost, and EGT on the a-pillar.

Can't wait to I'm finished . :)

Gauge quetions

I personally prefer IssproEV. They are accurate ,easy to install and look good.

I also have oil pressure as I belive the OEM are POS. The fuel pressure saved my VP44 when my stock lp died, also a POS

I've been running the IssproEV's on my truck for about six years. I give them a thumbs up for reliability, no problems. Fuel pressure guage is a Dakota Digital, also no problems.

thanks for all the info! i plan on getting a Optix FP guage and a autometer oil temp and oil pressure! thats why i like TDR everyone is so helpful!

I have the Westak combo in my truck and I have had VDO gauges in my VW for 15 years with no issues. An important factor to consider when purchasing gauges is mechanical vs electric for the sending units.

For example, the Westak combo has nylon tubing run from the engine to the guage for boost pressure, but the exhaust temps are done with an electrical wire. The wire has never failed, but the nylon tubing has failed twice on mine. On my VW with the VDO guages, they all use electric sending units to the gauges for oil temp, oil pressure, etc. I have not had any problems with those.

I think gauges are a personal preference. I have Westach which also makes aircraft gauges. You don't say what if any gauges you have now, or if you have a stick or automatic. You should probably have the fuel pressure gauge, EGT, and Boost. If you have an automatic and are going to tow, you should also consider a transmission gauge. Don't know the necessity of the other guages you mentioned, but start with the necessary ones and go from there depending on your needs.
