Guage questions?

I was testing all the fittings on my boost and pyro guages before I put them in this week. I noticed that the fitting for the back of the boost guage won't go on very far. Maybe a couple of turns. Is this O. K. ?? Should I torque it down really good?

What kind of boost gauge? The hose doesn't go in all that far, the ferrule (sp?) that is over the hose should be tightened down pretty good, but not too much or you will crush the sleeve and either have leaks or pinch the hose. You should not (obviously) be able to pull the hose out, but don't get carried away either.



Just another helpful hint- be careful how you route any slack in the tubing as to not kink it when you push your gauge into whatever pod (A pillar or otherwise) you are using.

It's a Di-pricol. I'm talking about the part of the fitting that screws onto the guage itself. It seems like it oughta screw on further.

Insert the tube into the gage, then tighten the fitting.

Then it's humble pie time... Blow into the tube and see if the fitting at the gage leaks!

That's what I would (and have) try if I had doubts!!!

I have the same gauge as you and I thought the same thing. Just use some Teflon tape to seal the threads and then snug it tight and it will not leak. Tighten it to much and you are going to be finding more tubing and new pieces. Bill
