I recently purchased a box stock '95 2500 CTD 2 wheel drive, Auto with 80,000 miles that added a 4" exaust with an Aeroturbine muffler and an Isspro 3 guage cluster. My readings are 16lb boost WOT, 1100 degrees max on the pyrometer, and the transmission temp guage tops out at 195 degrees. Are these readings what I should expect with a stock motor? Will a 2 stage air filter add more boost? Thanks for your valuable advice. Bill Zehner in Portland Or.

As for the boost, it sounds about right, with my BHAF and a #8 plate, I was seeing around 20, which is about max for the stock system, I got this up above 35 with a boost elbow and an afc spring kit.

Unloaded my transmission temp tops out about 195 under some harsh conditions brought by my foot :D , so that sounds right.

as for the EGT I am not quite sure, but I would think it should be a bit lower, a higher flowing intake like the BHAF would probably knock that down significantly, mine tops out at 1350 for a moment.

as for increasing boost, an intake won't help, but an orficed boost elbow will, although without any fueling enhancements, there will be no power gains. hope this helps
