guage sensor wire length

Ive decided to get the Westach EGT and transmission temp guages. I have a question as far as what the sender wire lengths should be. The EGT will be preturbo and the transmission sender will be at the outlet pipe from the TC. The guages will be mounted on the A pillar. I could measure my truck,but if someone knows then it will save a lot of second guessing on my part.

Michael, I believe that when I installed my EGT gage (purchased from TST), the instructions suggested that I use all the thermocouple lead that was furnished with the gage , (just neatly coil and tywrap it up under the dash). Most temp gage kits that I have seen come with thermocouple leads furnished. Just my 2 cents worth. .

The wiring for the EGT comes with the gauge. DO NOT cut it. It must be the length that was sent. Most of the gauges come with a 10' length.

The only gauge that is sensitive to the wire type/length is the EGT , From turbo to A-pillar mount, 6' is a very tight fit, I'd get longer, maybe 8 or 10 feet. The other gauges can be spliced with no problem.

The Westach catalog shows the sensor leads as separate items from the guages. They can be ordered in different lengths. Thanks for the help. It looks like Ill need to measure after all.
