Yeah, tell us more about the "blown" motor. What happened zacktly? I'm always curious about Cummins failures. They're so hard to find.

And hate that you had one, now how about the oily details?

motor blow out

:( I was On a trip going along when all of the sudden with no warning their was a loud bang and we just came to a stand still I tried to start and it did with a very loud banging. I had It towed to a dodge dealer and they said that the # 6 cy had blown Most likly due to lack of oil getting to itA week before I had it serviced on the rd at a jiffy lube. the service rep at the dodge dealer said something had come out about failed oil filters causing oil jets to clogh up. I asked them to save the filter for me and we can see if it failed. Three weeks later when i went to pick up my truck I asked for the filter but they had gotten rit of it. So $8,400 laterI could do nothing with out the filter. They never did try and tell me for sure what happened.

I have a friend here in town that threw a rod in a 90's something 12 valve. He said that it went without any warning, which is a little hard to believe. He is not a liar but is a frequent drug user, I saw the truck and it had a hole in the side of the block you could throw a cat through...

:p

no lube better than fast lube.

Highly likely that the Jiffy Lube filter was the cause and that Jiffy Lube would have bought the engine if the proper steps were taken.

Sorry for your loss. Wish we knew more.
