Ok, so a couple of years ago, I saw some cars hauling down the highway (interstate 80 in CA) with stickers displaying "GUMBALL 3000". I later found out that it is a rally across the country. Sounds like fun yeah? And how cool would it be if a big lifted 4wd Dodge Ram DIESEL got there first?:D

Ok, so I am putting the 37" tires bacl on now that I have 4. 10 gears (thanks Willie) but before, I could hum down the highway at 130mph smooth as silk, umm I mean 70mph officer... [laugh] .

Ok, so i put in an overdrive unit, build a 100gal fuel cell for the bed, and drive fast, incognito style since cops will be looking for the Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porche's, etc. I haven't read a lot about it yet so I don't know how much it would cost for the "rally", and all the in's and out's of it... I would just LOVE to show the generally "diesel ignorant" public just what these things are made of!:D

Oh and don't bother with the whole "safety aspect" of it... I know. (it will have an in cab roll cage, just in case)

Gumball

I have the video from New York to Vegas or is that L. A. Bad A $ $

That would be an awesome tour, hard on the vehicles, but maybe not a DIESEL RAM.

Lemme know I may be interested too :p

The 2005 race goes from London, Brussels, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Bari, Taormina, Palermo, Rome and ends in Monaco. The 2002 event was NY to LA. I wonder when its coming back.

And its $10,000 British pounds to enter... ... . yipes

Alcan 5000 Rally

If you're interested in taking on a rally you might also look at the Alcan 5000 rally . They will be doing a summer rally in 2006 and a winter one in 2008. The winter one this year went as far north as Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories. Tuktoyaktuk is on the coast of the Artic Ocean. The entry fee for the 2004 winter rally was $2600 for a car and two drivers.

If you're serious, I'd look at adding another turbo and some M6's to your signature area... at least then you might be competitive against said Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porche's, etc.

Remember, most the guys running the race have unlimited funds to do it with... unless you do too, you might only be turning heads, and not end up being very competitive.
