By Pass Filter?

Increasing Radiator capacity

I just had a question? I was looking at an AFE stage 2 with torque Tube... . But i dont plan on doing any bombs to this truck for a while.....

So what i thought about doing is putting a drop-in AFE in the stock air box and either getting a torque tube or gutting the stock one by cutting out the baffles in it... .

What do you guys think about this..... Think it would help any?

THANKS

I was also told that really if your not going to be doing big MODS, than its not neccesary to have a whole intake..... Besides all it gonna do is just make noise.....

Was told that really if you gonna do big MODS than you would need an intake to move all the air, but for keeping truck stock that a drop-in AFE or any filter would do the job...

Can anyone shed some light on this for me...

that's all i have stock air box modded like they did in tdr mag. with a drop in afe filter and torgue tube i had an afe stage 2 didn't care for it made way to much turbo noise and totally unbearable when towing a 27ft enclosed car trailer really didn't see significant gains with the stage 2 also now it's perfect a little more turbo noise than stock but bearable when towing love it

when you making big hp the turbo will suck all the oil out of the filter and dirt allong with it, if you dont stay up on those filters you will be sorry. the stock air box can supplie enough air for 500+ hp. you need to mod it some too. just choose a easy to manage and high flow type filter, i have had good luck with the new amsoil filter. :D

Second that. No more sucking the filter minder down with new filter now that the cold air intake as descrivbed in the last TDR issue is installed.

I also replaced the baffled pipe after the filter with a modified piece of 4" ABS. No noticable sound or power increase.

I have the AFE but it is noisy under load. I read somewhere members taking stock box and drilling holes in box bottom to allow more air in??. . and using a drop in filter.

Im also sick of the AFE intake system with Torque Tube. The whistle is nice, just too much. Could I use the stock Airbox and the TT from the AFE and get a little more whistle than stock?
