Does the black cover on the dash on your older 2ndgen trucks just snap on like my 99 or is there some hidden screw some where that I need to know about. I'm putting in a radio for a friend this weekend and need to know before I go and start pulling on his dash (don't want to break it, he's a pretty big guy:{)

Thanks for helping.

gitchesum is correct

You may have to fool with the tilt and shift lever a bit so as to not bend the piece. The stereo is easy to pull out ,it has 3 phillips screws,2 plugs, antennae wire and ground wire. If I am correct there is an extra plug stuck to the metal frame behind it. Unless I lost the other side of the plug somewhere when I was doing ac work?

BigD is their going to be any wire cutting/splicing involved? Or do you have a unit that uses stock power plugs? Let me know ,I thought of adding cd player.

All done and no major problems

Guys, Thanks for the help got the radio put in Saturday and it works great. I gave him my 99 factory Infinity CD/casette radio and he loves it. The hole think just pluged right in:), the only mod I had to do was cut the graound wire and put a different terminal on it. :D

10-G, If you are looking to get a new radio you can try www.crutchfield.com or any of the electronic stores have the plugs to plug right in the factory wiring harness. i put in a Blupunk and it only took about a half an hour to have it in and working. :D Next on the list is some new speakers. :{ The factory one's sound like crap now that I have the new radio. :(

Thanks again guys
