Lewis and Clark

Guys... ... ... ... ... ... ..... Mapping is what Lewis and Clark did  :p

I have something to add. In my search for mopower, I have found that the modified HX35/16cm2 will do little to cool the engine. I have yet to dyno, however I am no where near 350 HP, the point at which the Modified35 becomes ineffective.

I'm told the 60mm wheel is not recommended for the 35 due to unstable mapping (air flow) and also, it's the largest that can be installed. A 61mm wheel would therefor require a different housing, like the H1C perhaps? I dunno.

In short, I'm looking to do something with my new 35 that has proven ineffective at, say, about 250 hp. Any suggestions out there? I'd like to NOT have to buy yet another turbo! BTW, I have pressure tested all the intake components and am currently working on a twin ram intake to replace my current 3" intake horn.

This winter a modified injection pump will be installed and the 35 will have to give way to something else. May have a new (7,000 mile) modified HX35 up for sale

BTW guys,

I don't usually give this out but my truck has a full 4" "short" exhaust, ASA mod intake w/aFe, ported exhaust manifold and custom 3" intake horn, and many mods to the injection pump. Air flow should be good..... aparently not :(

Heck, maybe I AM near 350 rwhp... ... ... ... ... ... . hummmmmmmmm... ..... I seriously doubt I'm near 280.

if you insist on doing something with the HX35, I would install it on the truck as-is, use your H1C to build a hybrid out of, and then sell the HX when you're done w/ it...

a used HX35 in good shape will fetch ~$250-275 w/no problem... a used H1C is more like $100

Ok, I'm starting to get confused.

Let's make it cut-and-dry: with either turbo, you would still end up with the exact same turbo in the end, correct?

All the parts that are different would be changed in the process of hybridizing it, correct?

As a matter of fact it is sitting down at the shop next to an HX 40 exhaust housing that could be used as the poster child for the "Idiots than run high egts club". I needed one to do some flange fitting and asked for an expendable one. 12 still has a broken bolt in it. Don't they normally run a 14 on twins?

Greenleaf- What kind of boost are you making? You can have 250RWHP, and be over 350 at the engine with an auto. THAT is where you run into EGT trouble. I've seen under your hood, and it should flow well enough to keep EGTs down, IMO.

I wish I could have dyno'd the Weenie before I sold her... could peg the pyro and hit 47psi before letting off... and I could have turned the screw in even further! :D

That was with porting, 4" exhaust, EDM's, and a VERY large hybrid turbo.

What do you guys think the weenie was puting down?

I thought it had the stock clutch, but found out it had a better clutch installed when the g360 was rebuilt. :D

Well Since you sold your edm's to NeedMorePower over on the DTR and he has been on the dyno a couple of times and he has quite a few good mods including a HTB2 he ran 352hp. I would say somewhere around that. Maybe a little more/less who knows. You always talked the talk when you had the old girl, but you never walked the walk. Then you went commando on us first geners and bought you a nice shinny 2nd gen. I guess we will never know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to ask him what mods he has. When I sold them to him, he still had the stocker turbo... lol, I told him it wouldn't last long!

I had quite a few mods that you guys never knew about...

I'm not giving away any Buckeye State Engineering secrets, however I'll say this much... ... ... .

" The VE will push more fuel than what a modified HX35 can keep up with" :D

Serously though, I'm not in any hp race or #'s competition. Further more I'll keep all my #'s off the forum, that is untill I dyno. The proof is always in the pudding.

:-laf :-laf :-laf Well I know this for a fact it deffinatly flows more than my Piers HX40/16 will keep up with. Also you hit the nail on the head " IT'S BETTER TO BE THOUGHT OF AS A FOOL THAN TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT" " THE PROOF IS ALWAYS IN THE PUDDING"

I'm going to assume that wasn't directed towards me.

You guys be nice to CB. He asks alot of questions that I enjoy hearing the answers to. I'm hoping some of you guys will come up with a good twins combo that would spool faster than what i have and give a real low egt at around 400 hp. Something like a 35-9 over an Hx-50 , 45psi with 1100 deg egt. Would be way usable and not over stressing everything. Small injectors, 20mpg 375 to 400 hp and no headgasket worries.
