I have a chance at a good deal on some H2 wheels. I know about machining the centers and all. I work in a machine shop and have access to a CNC so it is not a problem.

What I want to know is: Will my 35" M/T's still rub the control arms? or will they stick out a long ways. I was hoping they would sit out maybe another 1/2 inch or so just to keep the tire off the control arm.

It is only worth buying them if they will keep the tires from rubbing, otherwise it isn't worth it to me right now.

i had 315 bfg's with the stock hummer wheels. no rubbing at all. still had about 1/2 5/8 clearance on control arms at full turn. this was with a 2 inch lift in the front.

I have 2 sets of the 315s-- One on factory alloys, (rubbed the control arms) and one on H2 wheels. (No rubbing)

I have one set of BFG 315 70X17's, one set on stock alloy wheels and one set on H2. No leveling or lift kit, the 315's on stock rims rub on the lower conrol arm slightly, not enough to worry about though. Another plus is the tires are tucked into the fenders very nicely!

With the 315s on the H2 rims, no rubbing on the control arms at all but the tires stick out of the fenders a little, not as nice looking as with the stock rims, IMO. But, then I installed the Dynatrac locking hub kit. The new hubs stick out quite a ways, so the 315s on the H2 rims protect the locking hubs better and look OK.

Also, I liked the look of the beads on the H2 better than the beads on the stock rims, they look to me like they will retain the tire to the rim better, more angular hold.

Another plus is H2 rims are easier to find and cheaper that the stock rims, but I am on the lookout for a set of stock forged aluminum rims at a good price... .

No rubbing with 35's on H2 wheels and my Kore suspension. The tires came after the lift. Before that, no rubbing with the 315's.

I have a set of BFG 315 70X17's as well on H2 Chrome Wheels and I have no rubbing at all. I will say however that I installed a Tuff Country Leveling kit when I bought the truck so I have no idea if they would have rubbed without the leveling kit.

I have 315/70/17 BF's on H2 rims mounted on my stock height truck. No rubbing on the control arms at all. Full lock in either direction. They do stick out a little further than stock, but IMHO it makes the front stance of the truck look meaner with the wider tires. Let me see if I could find some pictures to illustrate this.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone happen to know what the actual specs are for H2 wheels? What are they spec'ed at for width (I am pretty sure it is 8. 5") backspace and offset? I was running searches and reading through tons of posts because I was sure I could find it, but no luck so far. That will tell you exactly how they will sit vs. the stock rims.

I haven't been able to find the offset and I am pretty sure they are 8. 5" wide. I was hoping they were 9's but I just don't think so.

I was also concerned about weight rating, but I can't find that out either.
