I'm wondering if there are any pictures of 2nd generation trucks on this site with the H2 wheels installed. I'm considering buying them but am not interested in tires sticking out past the fenders very far. Currently I have 255/85/16 BF Mud Terrains on my truck and I don't mind where they are and I've seen some 295's that look fine. I've looked for pics here but only found them of 3rd gens. Thanks for the help!

Is that lifted?

I have the same thought, even have the wheels and tires ready to go. My garage door opener has a bar that hangs a little low when opened. DOH!!

Hey KatDiesel thanks for the reply, but I can't open it. I wasn't a member so I joined but still can't open it. Can you post it another way to make it more simple for a moron like myself? Thanks again. jwey

Thats a nice truck... I wonder who it belongs to???

It has 2" leveling kit on the front. The whole package raised the rear bumper 2. 5 inches and the front bumper 4. 5 inches.

Lets see if this will work for you JWey.

fourwhls,

Thanks I was finally able to access the pics. The truck looks very cool. I cannot tell from the pics how far the tires stick out past the fenders, can you give me an idea? I have 3. 55 gears with dd2 injectors and 4"exhaust and I currently run 255/85/16 mud terrains with no power complaints. Do you think the 315's will knock off too much power? I'm also going to install an EZ box. I haven't done the clutch yet. As I'm typing I can guess that will need to be done soon. How is the ride quality and handling with the new tires? Thanks again.

JWey,

The tires stick out about an inch past the fenders. Not bad at all.

Will it knock off too much power? Thats going to be a personal preference. I wasn't hurt at all, but I am running 4. 10s. Your tire's outer diameter is 33. 06in and the 315/70-17 that comes on the Hummers has an outer diameter of 34. 36in. You are only steping up 1. 3in or 3. 9%. You shouldn't be too bad off.

I am upgrading to more power, but that decision was made before I bought the wheels/tires. In fact, I am getting rid of my EZ if you haven't bought one yet. I have it listed on the DTR classifieds or send me a PM and I will give you all the info.

Ride quality and handling is good. I have no complaints. The only complaint comes from my wife when she has to climb up into it. I just laugh and tell her she's getting old.

I just bought a set of these rims too. I am wondering if the centers need to be machined like the 3rd gens do? If so, by how much? TIA
