Anyone running a --50 turbo? I am not sure about the letters, but I want to go fast. Any suggestions?Or complaints

Piers (Piers Diesel Research) has a HX50/55 with all the adapters to bolt up to stock exhaust manifold and 4" exhaust downpipe. Wastegated at 55psi I believe.

Your going to need alot more than DD1's to push that turbo. You sound like ME :D I love acceleration. Piers is a good guy to talk to.

I am undecided, but I think I will go with the hx50 among other things. :) I dont see many HX50s in the signatures on other trucks. I am just checking to see if anyone had any problems with this turbo?

Hx-50/55

Kaptn... Devildog is right! I will be testing the new turbo later this week. This is a large turbo like the B-1, H-2e etc. , and will take a lot of power to spool-up. A larger turbo by its self will not give you more power and the "go-fast" you are looking for. Its the right combination of fueling, air and the right size of turbo/ or turbos , elevation and other factors which will produce the most bang. I am optimistic that this turbo will perform at higher levels then the current Piers modified HX-40 for those in drag racing, truck pulls, and dyno competition. I'm not sure this turbo will be the best choice for those that due alot of towing. I will post my results and over all experiences with this new turbo in the days to come.

I'd like to see a comparison between the 50/55 & a stock 40x16. From what I gather, it looks like the 50/55 spools like the stock 40x16. If that's the case, no problemo towing.

Heberam, What is your opinion of the b-1 standard housing(not the kwik spool housing) compared to the hx-50 and the h2e. What turbo is the all around best for truck pulls & just plain beatin the crap out of it. Im upgrading my hx-40 & i need a turbo that will take nitrous & keep the egts in check. thanks kurt.

propuller... Just put the turbo on today, and breaking it in. Will be putting the coals to it in the next day or two. Start saving some money as this is going to be a winner!!! :D At my elevation 5700' I couldn't spool the B-1, or the H-2e very well, even at my HP level. . All I'll say at this time is Wooooooooooooooooow!

I'll give a complete run down in another tread in a few days.

Steve Oo.

I have been doing my homework and realize,I am going to have to spend a lot of money to spin that big of turbo. Heberam I believe has awnsered my question. Woooooooooooooow:--)

Thanks guys, I cant wait to hear the rest of the story.
