update

well i just got the parts truck motor fire up yesterday. i am going to have a few dually parts left over. if you need something, just pm me and i will see if i have it. i still have a LONG list of things i still have to get. making alittle procress.

Haven't been on-line in a while... .

I come back and see this! I'm completely heartbroken over this :{ When you mentioned the a/c line as being a possible cause, I even felt worse! Not sure if I had wrote about it in the conversion thread, but I had used that 12A freon in the system from Duracool. I sent a couple of bottles of it home with you. I think it was someone on this site that I got turned to this product! This really sucks!!!

mark, all i can say is 'stuff happenes'!!!!!! i do not know exactly what the cause was, just that i have to rebuild it. i have got a donor truck that only has 130 on the clock. i have fired the donor motor up and it purs like a big cat ready to eat(powerstrokes)!!!!! the crew will be back! i am just going to take my time and do it right. how goes the progress on your new crew?

Hey Mike,

Ya... just hate it when it happens to something I had a part in! If you need anything that I can help with... such as transporting parts or anything, I'll meet you more than half way! I'm always up for a road trip! I really hope to see this one back on the road again... keep us all posted on the progress as I'm sure several of us are interested in how it goes.

Looking at the photos you posted... is it me or does a lot of the fire intensity seem to be around the a/c components? Where do you think the a/c line failed?

We are grateful that none of you were hurt!!!

Very Nice Insurance Job...

 The truck is an 83 Dodge W350 crewcab with a CTD conversion. Do you think that even if he had full coverage it would even come close to covering all the man hours that were invested in building it?

I actually met you once and thought that you were a nice guy, but I think you just changed my mind.

I suggest getting it appraised after it is done, and insuring it for that. I planned on it for mine, and then I wrecked it without doing so. I got lucky... the winch bumper saved the truck, except for a radiator that was leaking anyway. The Sebring convt. that pulled out in front of me was a different story... .

i think that after i get it rebuilt i will get it fully covered. carnivalworker, all i can say is 'i don't operate that way. ' i bought the truck to use it for what it was built for pullin a camper and hauling the family. i will get it back to were it needs to be. with the help of those on this board.
