Piers, don't keep us wondering!

Anyone else having trouble getting Rickson's webpape?

Had an old guy in a Ford Escort turn in front of me today. I was able to miss most of him. His left front fender ran into my left front tire and Nerf bar. The Nerf bar save me from alot of damage to my truck. Broke the hubcap and marred the rim and Nerf bar. No dents or anything. The body shop said that he thought he could buff out the rim and Nerf bar. Had the rim checked and balanced, it was straight. Going to get the front-end aligned on Friday.

I really felt sorry for the old guy that turned in front of me, no injuries, but he was really shaken up. I put my arm around him trying to comfort him, letting him know that it was alright and no one was hurt. That was the most important thing. He was on his was to get his drivers license. He got a ticket for failing to observe the right of way.

Be careful out there, I got some pictures of Papa Joes truck I will post shortly. Don't know how he survived that one.

Be sure and let us know when you have the pics up. Glad it was a fairly minor accident. A big thumbs up for your behavior afterward. Acting like a jack *** wouldn't have put your truck back together.

Bob... Good job of taking care of the guy... and I'm glad your ride was not injured worse, too.

What is going on over there??? First PJ, now you?

Glad everybody's alright. You can always get a new truck(some waiting required). They're made to be repairable or expendable, our bodies aren't, and you only get one.

Watching watching the proof on Dateline on NBC, special report on bumpers. They don't have to tell me that ours suck. At least my 97 was metal. The outer end of these is only tubing.

Y2K Red Stealth Sport 2500 4X4 QC SLT+, 5-spd, 3. 54 anti-spin, 265-75-16 LTX’s (There ain’t no such thing as options, cause ya gotta have it all, including: DC’s dead cow/vinyl interior and don’t stop anti-lock brakes. ) Stock, but not for long. Oops, too late. What silencer ring? (More fun than my 98 SST)

Maybe mine was the first of the "three". A lady in a Mercedes ran into the back of my truck three weeks ago. She took out the bumper and scratched the paint on the lower quarter panel. Barely felt it. The hitch took most of the impact. When I walked back to see if she was OK, she was stuggling to get her door open. It was jambed by the impact. I got the rear passenger door open and she was choking from the gas from the airbag. I ran around and helped her out on the front right side. When I did that, I got a wiff of the gas. Man, that's nasty stuff! I don't know what they use but it's bad. She was OK other than a sore wrist. Can't say as much for her car. Probably 15-20K worth of damage. Guy from the body shop said the MB airbags are about 3-4K alone.
I knew I was on borrowed time. Between the wife and myself, we usually don't past 30 days with a new vehilce before she backs into someone or someone hits me. That's been the experience with the last four trucks and SUVs so far.
Let's be careful out there.

I've had a couple close calls lately with people having trouble SEEING the big blue Ram and moving over to join me for tea in MY lane #ad
Last night I was inches from having the right side customized by a trashy Astro Van. Two weeks ago some moron driving a vehicle that needs to be taken away from him. . . a nice new Dodge Cummins QC SB 4x4. . . creeps by on my right then moves into my lane when his rear bumper was even with my nose #ad
Scariest of all was when I was cruising the freeway onramp last fall where a cement truck was in the left lane, courteously giving me the right for merging... so I thought. Just as the runway was ending I find I guessed wrong and had nowhere to go #ad
Good thing the brakes work good.

Maybe my caca is over for now since I've had 3 near-misses. But AIR HORN shopping is definitely in order!!!

Hey BIG BOB, when that guy hit your Ram and saw how BIG you are he probably thought he had pretty much bought the farm, right then and there! #ad

Seriously, you handled yourself like the good man that you are. #ad
You are an insperation to us all!

I, on the other hand have handled situations such as this much less eloquently than you. #ad

Yesterday I was driving along on a local expressway and a woman suddenly decided to change lanes in front of me. Her dog laying behind the rear seat sunning himself so she could not see out her inside mirror.

Since I have discovered that a RED one ton truck is hard to see, I told her I was there with a long blast on my air horns.

She then turned around and gave me a "nasty look" as if to say "why are you honking at me?"

Glad to see he was driving an Escort. You really have to worry about the ones that shouldn't be driving in the first place, but then choose a big car, or more commonly a "SUV". (You can always tell the ones - they'll be terrified making a simple lane change).

How many of you guys feel that you and you "little" Dodge trucks are stealths... invisable. Seems to be happening a lot these days, I'm gonna get a big horn on mine... the kind that causes urine to flow in the other guys pants! #ad
