Tonite on my way home, I was heading to the High school to get my daughter and just had the cruise set at 75 MPH listening to talk radio. When all of the sudden there is a brand new Yellow/Orange Corvette right along side me. It pulls a head enough for me to see it has the new car temp plate/sticker. Then he backs off and pull along side, from my vantage point I can see inside and see him drop a gear or two and he's off. I step down and stay right with him as he shifts to the next gear, I put the smoke peddle to the metal and leaving him like he's standing still. :D I lift at 110 MPH and he walks by slows to my speed and give me the thumbs up, then speeds away.

I wonder if this guy is still happy with his New Corvette!?!?!?!?

Man these trucks are fun:D :D :D

So much for that new muscle car feeling, huh? Probably really disappointed that he got eaten alive by a truck. Can't brag to his girlfreind so much now!:D

DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Dee. . are you ever going to grow up?:D

What's going to happen when you get that new turbo?

Steve

Heck No Steve Never going to happen. When You grow up you get old and die.

With the new turbo I'll just have to back out of it faster.

BTW isn't this like the pot calling the kettle black??

HORSE POWER make life a fun ride!!!!!!!!

There is a new Vette here in town and I have beat him up two or three times. Now he wont even try to pass me. Just 65 mph all the way. He must be waiting for upgrades. :-laf :-laf

Do What?

You guys got to be kiddin' You mean you ran a "New Vette" and spanked him:eek: I've done quite a few bombs to my truck, but I don't think I want to pick on a Vette..... Yet? Are you Serious? Maybe my truck just weighs too much:mad: I guess I'll just have stick to spankin' shower. . Ummm Power JOKES. Dang the bad luck. Anyway, I wish I could see that race... ... ... I bet he was Wizzzzzzzzd off :D

Go Jim go!!!!!!!!! I only do it for fun:D :D :D

Jim,

A little off topic but,

What kind of EGT's do you see on 5x5 with the twins? Towing on level 1x5? Just curious I guess. You know that quest for more is tough to fight. I still have to "use" my truck as a truck sometimes

so maybe twins aren't for me. Thanks, Greg

A couple of weeks ago I raced a vette. My buddy from work has a 2002 conv. auto. with a K&N,Borla duel exhaust, and a chip. We were on the highway doing 65,the agreement was he would give me the hit,and then blow my doors off. I stomped on it and pulled him by a few feet, his front bumper was by my door, and that is were it stayed till 115mph. He could'nt pull me at all. I thought he was sandbagging it. until I talked to him and found out he was hammer down and not a happy guy.

What is really funny is that I have a 110 gallon fuel tank, tool box and assorted chains in the back!

My truck is a 2001 ETC Piers HX-40,BDIII's,Drag comp, ATS duel 4'' exhaust.

I have noticed that a bombed truck that is slower in a 1/4 mile race can still be faster on the top end, such as in a highway race. For example, a new camaro is a 1/2 to a full second faster than a truck like mine at the track, due to advantageous use of gearing and a much higher rpm, plus no turbo lag. On the highway, at speed, with boost, it is a different story. I have yet to play with a corvette, but I have showed a few camary's and mustangs my taillights.

If the driver aint that good, you can get him on the bottom end. I got one at US41 drag strip to 1000'. it was a brand new 2002 Z06 with temp tags. his 60' was around 2. 9 seconds. Mine was 1. 9. But since my truck hasnt grown up yet, he still got me on the top end.

Dang I wish I could have fun like you guys!! I got roasted by a firebird the other day! My clutch is gone, but it is just so hard to resist the race! I just sat their in fouth gear and watched the rpms screaming and smelling that ungodly smell! I am waiting on Peter's twin disc and as soon as thats in the truck I am goin huntin for a red firebird cause I am gonna smoke the hell out of him next time!

you lost me on the 5x5, mine is a 12V... . EGT's are 1400

Jim

Sorry Jim,

I guess I had too many valves on the brain... Just curious on what and how much you have towed? How the twins work and what max egt's are while towing? I know with my truck on level 1 I can see 1250* if I push it. I am just wondering how twins would hold up on a 24V hi HP truck?

With your truck running in the 15's how could you beat a 12. 5 second car to the 1000' mark?

He said the driver sucked. that car runs 12. 5 with a professional driver ,a perfect launch, and perfect gear changes. I have drive nthe new Vettes, including the Zo6,and if you are not in tune with the car you will bump the limiter in the first 3 gears, that LS1 revs so hard on top it touches the limiter easy. He said it had a 2. 9 60 ft time, thats a second off what it should run right there. Like he said he got blown by at 1000 ft,makes sense to me. I know better than to try a Zo6 with a good driver,I did nip out 3 different LS1 camaros though- i was getting pulled on at the end.

Snowman, Your right. The 60' time is very bad. I have seen plenty of them run and they are very quick stock. But the driver makes the car I guess.

Greg, I usually don't see over 1200 degrees on 5x5 at 55psi. Depending on the temp. it has gone a little higher.

Jim, I went and ran at the drag strip for the first time in my life today and it was to much fun. The first time I let off before the end of the 1/4 and got a 14. 22. The second run the clutch slipped from 3rd to 4th and got a 14. 4.

Hope everything is still good.

i'm sure a 12. 5 second car running 14. 9 had nothin to do with the driver. But not stopping to get your time ticket, or in the pits or at the stop sign at the exit had something to do with the competition.
