Exhaust Brake Question

Banks Monster Exhaust Install

Was I the only one who saw a 3-disc clutch sitting on Haisley's table at their TiM '04 booth?

It sure looked sweet... probably not streetable, though.

Dude your eyes went wiiiiide on that one. When they brought it out we all looked like german sheppards with heads turning. LOL it's gotta be like a light switch ... off ... or ON

The 3 disc was sitting on the table. Pictures of the 4 disc were there also. Haisleys were telling someone at the booth that they were trying to find a set-up that would last one whole season and not have to be torn down and rebuilt between pulls. Ican only assume they were refering to the clutch in Kents truck.

Guys that was the 4 disc sitting on the table! I first asked an Haisley associate and they said 3-disk... well if you look in the 2nd pic you can count 1, 2, 3, and then there is one more disk just barely tucked up in the pressure plate that you can't see it from my pic. I looked at the lady and asked again "are you sure?" :-laf she turned to Patty and asked her and she said "4-disk, just like what's in Rock Hard Ram". The whole time I was :--) and drooling!

If you watch a Video of any of the extreme trucks coming out of the hole you just have to wonder... ... ..... how does a clutch stand it... ... ... nice piece of gear.

Jim

Well, Jim, you must remember, the testimony from a self proclaimed Diesel expert, the midwest trucks are only around 400 hp.

Its just smoke and noise that fools us into thinking they have power.

So I'm not sure why they need that big clutch! :D

Why all this talk about clutches? Everybody knows that "if you want to put the power to the ground" you have to have an automatic!:D

Yea 400 HP..... anyone that has watch the video of my truck at May Madness or had seen it in person on the dyno, then watched those truck run... . any of them, can see the difference. I've made 15-20 pulls on the dyno at 750+ and there is no comparison, now to those of you that want to see that difference in person might get to in the near future.

If I were sled pulling there is no doubt I would run a stick... ... ... sorry but you can make it work for you better as I see it. !

Jim

Yep, that looks great - as long as you don't have to shift gears (think in terms of those who would try to use it on the street). All of that clutch disk mass would certainly make life difficult for synchronizers. ;)

Rusty

I stand corrected - 4 disc it is!! Sweet. Oo.

That clutch is 100% non-streetable... that's too bad... I like buying stuff that'll hold up to all kinds of abuse.
