Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Half gauges

I tried to post on the proper forum but only 40 looks at the post and no reply. So I am posting here. I have a 98. 5 That has the speedo,voltmeter and fuel guage working. The oil,temp and tach is not working . Things I have done changed all sensors related to gauges. Pulled a friends gauge cluster and pcm and still the same gauges are not working. Sounds like it could be something simple since half the gauges are working. Also,checked the ground on pcm ,ecm and continuity between the CCD buswires from pcm and ecm. Thanks Damon

You should check all the fuses on the side of trhe dash and in the PDC, I don't know which one is for the gages, don't just visually check but use an ohm meter with them out of the circuit or a volt meter with them in place. I had a 99 and still have the FSM, it says the instrument cluster has a "self- diagnostic test". To start the test, with the ignition off, depress the trip odometer reset button, while holding the button down, turn on the ignition but do not start engine, keep the trip reset button depressed for 10 seconds until CHEC appears in the odometer display, then release the button. A series if three digit numeric failure messages may appear. If a message appears let me know and I will look it up for you. bg

I have done the self diagnostic and it checks out . I pulled the fuses and checked them which were ok but I will check the resistance on both circuits monday. The truck is in the shop getting a coat of paint and dings out of it then off to be sold. I have 3/ 2500 and a 4BT in the garage waiting to go into my scout. Thanks Damon
