Well just went to Greg’s house today and picked up a set of bars to put on. They still don't have the output shaft so... ..... Thinking if I want to wait till Saturday or not. I still think the reverse pattern on the line lock will work. If anything I will put two on then.

Chaz- We wont need much for the injector install right? just a couple sockets and wrenches right? we put drews in at Diesel Performance in Adrian, MI when his VP died but I cant remember exactly what the tool sizes were. Ive got a valve cover gasket on the way.

You shouldn't need a valve cover gasket - they are reusable. I've done a lot of injectors on 24v's and I haven't had (nor even seen anyone else have) to replace the gasket - it's an EXPENSIVE sucker. It's been a while since I've installed a set but as I recall you need an inch lb and a low range 1/2" torque wrench. A crows foot (I can't remember the size) for the injector lines. I could bring the torque wrenches but I don't have any crows feet. It looks like I'll be there friday through sunday and that Wendy will probably come a little after noon on saturday and stay overnight (weather permitting).

14mm for the APPS

12mm (?) for the oil fill tube bolt (air horn)

10mm for the air horn and valve cover

8mm for the injector line retainers

19mm on the injector lines

cut down 19mm to about 6-7" for #6 injector line

8mm (?) for the injector retainer

small screw driver to pull the tubes back

large curved needle nose or similar object to pry the injectors out

rubber mallet to gently pop the new injectors in (optional)



20-30 min job

And I support Steve's statements on the gasket, very reuseable

Ian I will bring all tools needed to change your injectors out!! You don't need another valve cover gasket. Still have that leak you say? The only thing you may need is new air horn gaskets. I just hope this damn flu and sore throat is gone by then.

i sure hope so john. :-laf wouldnt quite be the same without you. lol. i am willing to work on your injectors ian. that is if you dont have a bunch of volunteers already. and i am not afaid to get atf on my hands. i will bring some tools. including a crows foot wrench for that #6 injector line. that is how i did mine. it is getting close. cant wait. see you all there.
