I've installed an Icom IC-706 in my Gen3-HO. My son has also put a 706 in his Gen2, non-HO. His works great. Mine, at least on 20M, is totally unusable when the engine is running. The engine is generating an overwhelming amount of static that is rpm related. It is not a whine like an alternator but more of a rapid snapping sound like one might experience with the ignition on a gasser. I'm suspecting that it is the electric injectors. This would explain why my sons rig with mechanical injectors is dead quiet. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to install clamp around suppressors on each injector wire.
Has anyone else experience this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks,
Dale
