I am purchasing a new 2007. 5 and I am considering the Handsfree option for Cell phone use. However a friend told me that the Handsfree will not work with my Blackberry.

Does anyone know anything about whether or not this is true?

Thanks

I have a Blackberry and it works with the UConnect in my truck. It should work fine with yours.

I think there is a list of phones that will work with UConnect, but mine wasn't on it. I don't think the list is updated often and with the array of cell phones out there, there are many that are not on the list.

I have u connect and it worked with my old 8700 bb and the new 8800bb... . no issues at all... . also worked with my co workers small bb (forgot the model number)... .

Your Blackberry should work just fine. You should have the 'search for bluetooth' capability on it, then it will make the 'match' and you lock on just like you do for the earbud. My Palm Trio 700wx found it, snapped right to it. If you have an earbud on your Blackberry all you really need is a mount for the Blackberry because it already is a functioning Bluetooth. The u-connect does not increase your reception abilities.

I did have problems with my new Blackberry Pearl and my '07 with the Uconnect. Ended up going back to blackberry and getting the latest firmware update. After that it worked like a charm. . Before it would constantly connect and disconnect
