handsfree/u-connect

I bought a motorola hf1000 hands free kit and started installing it today, when a buddy said, "if you get the u-connect, it will play threw the radio"... .



Anyways I have done a ton of searching tonight and I'm coming up with mixed results. It looks like all FACTORY installed units play over the radio speakers, but some are saying the "dealer" installed units come with the extra speaker, and some say they play over the radio speakers. Which is true?



I think I would like to stick with the motorola, but the mute and playing over the radio speaker(if this is true) would be sweet. Anyone know how to make my motorola kit do it?

I have the version ordered through the parts department. I does come with a separate speaker (that mounts behind the driver's knee bolster, so it's out of sight), but also connects to the factory radio to automatically mute it.

I have an 04. 5 and had the service dept. install the U-Connect and it plays through the radio. Sounds great.

I kinda have a love hate relationship with my aftermarket U-connect It works GREAT... when it works. Some of it may have to do with my custom install But either way it beats the old pull the phone from the holster ruotine. Good luck with your project!
