I know yall's feeling on the lo-flow toilets. When my mother bought her "new" house (built in 1996, I believe), it had two lo-flow toilets in it. I swapped out one of them immediately and the other one gives a LOT of problems. It is best classified as a urinal... anything solid or semi solid takes multiple flushes and quite often use of the plunger (which is conveniently kept beside the toilet).
I remodeled my old house into a 2 bath and used a 4gpf and 3. 5gpf that I had "saved" for the specific purpose. I have never had any problems out of either of them.
On a side note: The enviro natzis say lo-flow toilets "save" water (which we all know is not generaly true). The best "conserving" of water is the old fashioned rural system of "borrowing" the water. Us country folks have a well and septic system. It is not really possible to actually "waste" water in a rural setup because every bit of water that is brought into a country house is returned back to the ground and filtered through natural processes. No ground water contamination, no over concetration of sewage, no "waste" of water.
Another government regulation often fixed by me is the 'lo-flow" shower heads. What are you really "saving" if it takes twice or three times as long to take a shower under a trickle of water?
Many faucets and shower heads have been "gutted" by me and I am sure many more will be in the future!
