Hankook tires

I'd rather eat bees than run anything on Hankook tires. I've had nothing but bad experiences. Others have had good luck, but not me.

Yeah, me too. Tires are one of many products where the consumer gets what he pays for and pays for what he gets.

ChiComm tires are simply not as good as top quality American brands. Ten or twenty years from now they may be the only tire we can buy but I also would not buy one now.

I can prove that a set of Michelins used on my truck for highway driving is actually cheaper than other less expensive brands. Sure, the initial purchase price is higher but a set of Michelins will last twice as many miles. A set of six Michellins costs less than $0. 015/mile on a highway driven Dodge Ram. I make no statements about off road use.

I'm still using the stock, 16" "modular" steel wheels with the Michelins, at 80 psi cold. There was no psi limit marked on the rims (anywhere, even inside). Does anybody think using those rims at that pressure is a problem?

We can only offer a guess since we don't know the pressure limit on the wheels. A reputable tire dealer should be able to identify the wheel's manufacturer from a name or code stamped on the wheel and look up the specs in a tire and wheel industry reference book. If the wheels are eight lug they are "probably" rated for 80 psi. inflation. If only six lug, they might be rated for less.

Your trailer is not extremely heavy, I'd guess no more than about 2500 - 2600 lbs. on each wheel, so you are probably safe.
