Just traded my 2003 Hemi for a 2005/2500/slt/2wd/nv5600 and am

very happy with it at this point.

Only have a little over 400 miles on it only one 239 mile mpg check

which turned up 19. 6 mpg mixed type driveing. Mainly city outskirts

and open county roads around 60 mph type driveing. Note: the overhead

said 18. 7 so it's pretty close)

Love the 6spd except occasionally cantankerous going into reverse which many have noted.

Most importantly, no vibrations of any kind (or drone) at this time.

Only had it up to about 75 but otherwise keep it below 65 to check

mpg and be a little easy on it at first.

Busy transfering my accessories from Hemi to CTD and got the

Buckstops on yesterday. Be a little while before and finish it all

and update my pics.

Hope everyone has as good luck going to 2005 :)

Larry, congrats on the new truck. I've had mine for a little over a month now and am also happy. My mpg isn't as good as yours but up here in Utah we are running the winter blend fuel and with the bad weather, etc... , I imagine that has a lot to do with my lower figures(16-17mpg).

shoot I only geting 14. 3 but then I'am in utah and only drive 6 miles to work and back every day so I probley just kill my mpg

Congrats on the new ride! Your gonna love it. Now when they say "that thing got a hemi?" You can reply NO, ITS GOT A CUMMINS!!

tshwab,

Yes, I loved it right away and on the way home from the dealer.

The hemi did well though, no complaints.

I made another round trip today of 295 miles and tried to drive at

speeds that would give me the best mileage and also get some hours

on the engine. Come up with 20. 5 calculated and 19. 9 overhead so

I'm super happy with that part of it as well as all the rest of it. Looks

like the sweet spot is very close to 1700 rpm.

'Pears you have the 'deluxe' rig and I am sure you are very proud

of it too. :)

Congrats on your new ride. I too just got my 05 about a month ago. Wish I was getting the kind of mileage, but I only drive like 4 miles to work or so, and it's been below zero here for a while, what with warm-ups and all, I'm lucky to see 15mpg. If the road clear up by the weekend, I'm planning a break-in run loaded down, hopefully get my engine worked good.
