I have been a lurker for awhile and finally glad I'm set up. It is a 2001 4x4 Reg cab pushing 126,000 miles and its pretty cool. All this lift pump/injector pump stuff makes me nervous but who cares I am thinking my lift pump is sick and I need to get fuel pressure reading soon to see what is up. The engine light comes on for just a second when turning the truck over. It fires up and runs fine to me with plenty of power. However I know that it can be a decieving thing. So I know I need to get some gauges. Whats this BHAF air filter and where do you get one? I am thinking about a pusher pump-need reliability. This thing is a joy to drive and plan to have it for a long long time.
P. S. Bear with me new to this posting stuff. . I could ask a zillion questions! :-laf
Thanks! This is not my first diesel. Had a 93 4x4 with a snow plow and a dump box in the bed. I miss that truck. It is not bad to do water pumps, alternators and thermostats on these trucks compared to some V8 gassers.
I am also new TDR member, a couple friends told me about TDR and checked it out as a guest. Lots of good information. So I guess you could say I got smart and joined.
Same here. I've lurked around for a while, then decided I might as well join up. I've had my '01 for about a year now... 184,000+ on Big Blue and still going strong. Only problems I've had so far... . 2 lift pumps and it's about time for a clutch. Otherwise, BB has been rock steady and knocks down 21 mpg on the highway unloaded. Just added an Exstang tonneau and mileage picked up even more... 374 miles on half a tank. Dang I love this ol rattlin Cummins... .
