Hard 2-1 downshift after band adjustment

Preparing for a trip I needed to perform some preventive Mx on my 48RE. So I adjusted the forward and rear bands on and replaced the governor transducer and solenoid; everything runs fine but now the truck downshifts hard from second gear to first gear when it hits around 10-15 miles an hour. I have readjusted the band per TDR write ups in the forum three times and this downshift "bump" still occurs.

So my question is this normal? Is there a "wear in" period? Should I be concerned?

Try loosening the TV cable adjustment at the bell crank under the hood. With the new gov solenoid and transducer you may have too much TV pressure in it for a smooth downshift.

TV cable was fine, but broke the darn plastic clip removing it. Any ideas on a part number for this puppy? Trans still downshifts hard, but only at slow speeds....sure wish it would stop but I guess it will have to wait; I have a trip to Florida coming next week. Thanks for your input cerb

That because off the throttle it is putting to much TV pressure into the transmission. The plastic clip is part of the cable, need a new TV cable.

Mine shifts also a little harsh 2>1 since installation of the Shiftkit, but I don't care about it because it's only slow speed and close to zero throttle, so I think it won't hurt anything.
