Hi all, I have a strange issue that only happens after driving more than about 10 miles, not loaded or towing. At a stop it is sometimes rather difficult to shift into 2nd gear to take off. What I have found helps is to pushin the clutch and pull it into 4th and then move into 2nd and its fine until the next stop. This has never happened when cool or cold, onl after warm up. It is also sometimes very difficult to get into reverse. I had the clutch replaced with a SB ConOFE and the hydraulics a few thousand miles ago, maybe 5, I don't remember it ever happening with the crapy stock clutch. I am running Red Line MTF fluid, also since the new clutch. Any ideas, or is this common?

Is the trans a 5 or 6 speed, Make sure the fluid is the right stuff for the trans, I replaced all the fluid in my truck with stock 80-90 and found that i burnt a trans becasue of it, the dodge or knock off brand of mopar sae75w-85 synthetic. See if that helps, also check if the clutch resivor is toped off. If that dosent help, it seems to be the synchronizer.

last time I had that happen the pilot bearing was dragging. That shouldn't be the case with one that new though...

The symptoms described usually suggest the transmission input shaft is continuing to turn slightly. This can be caused by a failing pilot bushing, throwout bearing, weak clutch master or slave cylinder, or dragging clutch assembly.
