Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Hard start and no idle

My brother-in-law and his wife are pulling a trailer and trying to make it back to AZ from VA.



They tell me that the truck is very hard to start and will not idle. It runs good when warmed up and up to highway speed.



They have a suspicion that it was a bad batch of fuel. Any other suggestions.



It is a 95 4x4 just like mine.

Could be bad fual drain a little out of yhe filter and check for water.

Yes, he has been a heavy eqpt operator and mech for 50 years.
