Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) hard start/no start.

I got a copy of JGeorge write up on another formum and it was some of the best technical information that I have ever seen on fuel system and easily understandable by this of

I have the write up and it's good, but that's just one component of the engine, and something else is going on here. any other ideas?

Finally fixed.

Well after Joe told me 15 psi at idle is to low, and there's no fuel dripping after the pump I deduced the problem must be before the lift pump. So i dropped the tank and found the problem right away. the two steel lines that go into the tank from the quick disconnects were completely rotted. Instead of paying 500 for a whole new pickup assembly I just ran a rubber hose through a rubber grommet and attached to the plastic hose inside the sender, then I just ran a piece of rubber hose all the way from the injection pump to a spare line on top of the tank for the return line. the truck runs like new!
