When i go to start it up it either takes some cranking, it starts and revs up or it starts revs up and dies. Anybody heard of this?

now i have a NO BUS display in the odometer. Gauges dont work, I think that is a miscommunication between the cluster and the ECM??? help me out!

I have had no experience with either what you are experiencing or what the possible solution may be, but could it possibly be the cam timing sensor (i think that is what it is called).

Ditto on checking the connections. No Buss is a communication problem between the cluster and PCM. Check the bulkhead beneath the dash left of the column also. I reassemble with dielectric also.

I had about the same exact thing this morning when I started the truck from my camping site. It was probably 50 degrees so I did the usual "wait to Start" and it cranked and cranked until it kinda had a glimmer of running, i let off the key and it shook, sounded like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders and smoked like crazy. I shut it off, gave it another couple grid heater cycle and it fired up and idled like normal. Just checked and no codes are showing. (3 key cycle method)
