I started a new thread on this issue. Just wanted to consolidate. Truck is an 05 with 105k on the clock. Engine started to have a slight intermitted miss on crankup early last year somewhere around March. One morning in June it took about a minute to start ran very poorly like on 4cyl. held the rpm to 2k finally cleared up drove all day no problems. Engine would miss at start up 2-3 times a week not bad just like one cly was weak. Posted to the site and responces were from FCA, Injectors to wiring under the AC. I searched for other members with like problems and found some problem battery threads. I had the batteries load tested and one was weak. Replaced Batteries on 9/23 engine ran great till last week. Missing on start up as well as one time while driving. Stoped truned off the engine fired it back up and ran great for 30 miles. 2 days later hard crank 40 to 50 seconds ran bad for 4-5 min. Replaced the FCA would not start (by the way neither the new one or the old on rattle when you shake them). Pulled the FCA plug to start (loud engine 1500rpm idle) pluged the FCA back in and engine settled down after 20 sec. ran poorly for 5 min. cleared up drove truck for 25 miles or so made 5 stops (shut down start up) truck ran great. I have done many searches and found many similar problems out there but very rarely is there a follow up post when member fixes problem.

What is your lift pump pressure when the truck is acting up? What about rail pressure? Are either one of those way off from what is expected at the time the truck is giving trouble?

Fired right up today. Seemed a little flat on one cyl. cleared up after 2 min. of idle. Pulled a heavy load 10k lbs. 70 mi for the first time in months... . ran flawless. That got me thinking that I have not pulled a load since collage tailgating last fall with the camper. I was thinking loafing around for a couple of months might be an issue.
