Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hard Starting 24v

My 98 24v started getting hard to start when warm. Searched the net and found a TSB on the problem. Had the TSB performed on my truck. It fixed the problem for about 5 days. Now its hard to start again. The TSB was a reload of the ECM software. Has anyone had problems with their ECM?

Fuel pressure? Do you know what it is?

haven't checked fuel pressure but replaced lift pump with a carter pump back in Jan. this year.

Hard start when warm = 99% chance of VP gone bad, especially on '98.

having mine replaced as we speak some issue when warm and interminttent power losses and the dreaded code but pressure to vp still good but have noticed a few psi drop in past couple months from 21 17 and 10 WOT to 19 14 and 8 WOT when it runs great its on when it doesnt it feels like a powerchoke sad part is I think with a dying vp44 I will still beat most of them

Probably VP44.

That is what happened to me last year at 136K. New VP44 and she is running like new!
