Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) LP hookup problem

Good Day. Quick question. I put in the F. A. S. S System 3 days ago and now it is hard to start. It will just turn over and over and then she will fire. There are no leaks and it all looks good. Thanks for the help Keith

The newer versions of FASS should be 16psi, but his VP44 might not like the higher pressure the FASS gives out at start-up. I believe the stock LP runs at half duty while cranking for this very reason. If his truck starts fine with the stock LP but not with the FASS, I would say he should put in an oil pressure switch that will delay the FASS pump until the engine is already running..... Or put the stock LP back in and save a few hundred bucks... . Good luck, Jim

JJ---that 1/2 duty cycle thing that dodge does is for the birds--it's unecessary or it has been in my truck and countless others as most now use the stock pump wire to trigger a 30amp relay to power the aftermarket pumps--mines been going strong for almost 4yrs with this set up---

K--you did wire it using the 30amp relay didn't you???---chris

Does your FASS run all the time with the key on, truck not started??

I just had FASS installed acouple of days ago. When I turn the key on to "wait to start" FASS "bumps" just like the stock LP used to. FP hits about 4psi before the FASS shuts down. I just wait for FP to drop back to zero (about 1. 5 seconds) and then fire the truck. No problems at all, hot, cold, cool or warm. long time sitting our in the drive thru at Wendy's. Fires right up.

I have the WIX 2 micron filter and run 13psi on the highway and idle at 14-15psi. cant pull it below 12psi.

Check your wiring, do u have the red to the positive and green to negative on battery. Pull to stock LP plug and relay then to FASS?

Does your FASS do the quick 2second run like the LP used too?
