Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Hard starting

About a month ago I had a new lift pump put in under warranty. two weeks later after a trip up the Oregon coast pulling my trailer the truck does not want to start. I checked the fuel pressure with BH's gauge and have found it is the same pressure as it was before I took it in for the lift pump. Question is did they not replace the lift pump or is the VP44 going out. I did install (myself) new dd2s prior to taking it in for the lift pump. I also smell some diesel from under the hood. I will be taking it back to the dealer this weekend but I wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions.

sounds like you system has a leak somewhere. Find the source of it. Check the injector lines, maybe they came loose after the injector install and are letting air into the system. That would be my first bet.



hope this isn't too "Duh!" for you, but we all overlook the obvious sometimes.
