My truck is getting harder and harder to steer in tight locations when going very slow. At the TDR meet in Portland, the service manager said that he had heard of other trucks doing the same thing but didn't know why yet.



It isn't bad all of the time, doesn't make any difference if my foot is on the brake or not. Fluid level is correct and no leaks.



Does anyone have any answers? Dan

I had the same problem too. It was intermittent and I have not had it lately. I think a change to a synthetic fluid would help. The flow of fluid is slow at idle with a diesel operating at low rpms. Steering the truck while braking further compounds it. Maybe the pumps are just not developing enough pressure to make steering easy. A shop can check steering pressure with a gauge.
