Hard to balance tires?

Any one have a problem getting their tires balanced? Every time I get them done I have to take it back. I have the standard chrome wheels and if I watch them balance it looks like the wheels are out of round. Tire shop says this is common for Dodge?

Anyone have any thoughts?

I understand that Dodge had a bad run of chrome wheels in 1996. I had to replace one of mine last time I got new tires.

Hmm, interesting. I guess I got lucky and drew all four!

None of the steel chrome rims are any good. A guy might get lucky and get a set that runs true but this is in the minority. All years.

Ok, so does anyone have any idea's as far as a good wheel that won't cost an arm & a leg?

I fought out of balance tires for years...



Recently I added a few ounces of counter act balancing beads to my tires. I wasn't sure if they would work, but I must say that I am quite impressed.

Not that I run around 100% of the time in a perfectly balanced condition or anything because from time to time it does seem that I go out for 30-45 seconds, but as soon as it balances back out again it's smooth sailing. I'm planning on installing these things in my new tires next month...

I got rid of the steel wheels on my 98. I put on the american Eagle 055. Easy to clean and affordable. I couldn't stand that skinny wheel that came on the truck.
